Kotar Montenegro

What a gorgeous place. A small village sheltered by fjord. Took some shots on the way in and will do more after we hike around today. The weather is super only 23 degrees and we are probably the last or one of the last groups of the season so the locals treat us so well. Glad we chose to do it this time of year, uncrowded, and comfortable.

This didn't upload the last time so I'm giving it another go.
Marisa and I decided that today was a day to just do some exploring on our own so we jumped ship and headed into this town that dates back to the 9th century according to the plaques on some of the buildings. We headed into the main square and the went off on one the streets, alley really, only wide enough for a horse drawn wagon. Along the way there many shops selling all kinds of artisan created sculptures and souvenirs.  We settle on two paintings from a local. Artist and they will find a place on the wall somewhere in our  home. We actually accidentally stumbled on to the trail head for a trek up to the top of the mountain. The guy charged us 3 Euros to walk past his house and start the trek to the top. This was the kind of climb that would test the resolve of the most ardent mountain biker. There were rough cut steps alongside a slippery steep cobblestone path. We took about 45 minutes to make it to this quaint little chapel about 3/4 of the way up. Couldn't imagine trying this in summer heat. As it was lots of effort and sweat to get there. Inside the chapel I said a prayer for my sister Cynthia and we headed back to town.
We stopped at a little cafe for a cold drink and to do some people watching before returning to the ship.
